As with many medieval bawdy badges, an everyday task is here depicted in a comical way. The vulva is sitting on a stool while spinning with a distaff: A common task for women, but, as one that was often carried out in groups, it was sometimes mocked and seen as a source of female gossip. The mockery is completed by a triple phallus crown!
